This is done through several steps. 1) Gather Villagers Villagers are picked up through the use of conscription orders. While in combat with a monster of a playable race that's badly injured, you can try to force it to surrender, then bring it back here to put it to work for you. Tougher monsters make higher tier villagers with more and higher-level skills. For obvious gameplay/safety reasons, a lot of monsters resist being captured. This includes most guild monsters, monsters that block exits, and very high level monsters. Immune monsters won't consume your orders. The maximum number of villagers you can have is six. You cannot house more villagers than it can feed, but most villagers have at least one food skill. 2) Put Them To Work Villages don't need to be micromanaged. They'll use their skills to build up 'supplies' using their skills. The higher their skills, the more supplies. Each of the skills is weighted the same for the purposes of supplies. Farming, Foraging, Hunting, and Fishing are food skills. Mining, Lumberjacking, Skinning and Trading are repair skills. 3) Raise the Comfort Level While your villagers have basic buildings and land to gather resources, they don't start with anything else. Tables and chairs, plates and silverware, doors and light sources - all sorts of things can turn your village into a place to live, not just a few empty rooms. Comfort items are classified by their quality. Random items are typically not very effective, but better than nothing. Be on the lookout for better items, or maybe try to have them made. A comfortable villager is a productive villager. The higher your village's comfort, the more 'supplies' your villagers will provide. Getting some comfort level quickly will therefore have the greatest overall effect in the Event. Some comfort items, like drinking vessels and chairs, are needed in a full dozen. Others, like fountains, flags, and musical instruments, are only needed singly. Your village's comfort level is formed by the best five items in each of those groups, so you don't need to fill out every single option. 4) Perform Daily and Weekly Quests Every day, your village will ask for help in five ways. Doing the first will give your village 50 'stockpile' and the others 25 each. Every Monday, your village will ask for help in three larger ways. Doing the first will give your village 750 'stockpile' and the others 100 each. Most of these quests will require you to hunt down creatures, find and bring back items, or get eq. Most of these quests are easier with help. 5) Defend Your Village From Raids Every weekend, you village will be attacked. You can either defend it yourself, or arm them and hope they defend themselves. If you choose to defend your village personally, you'll chase down the raiders nearby and fight them. Expect a tough fight, which will be stronger depending on the tier of your village - villages with more supplies are more lucrative targets and attract higher-level raiders. Killing them off will spare your village the raid entirely. If you want the village to defend itself, they'll need armour and weapons. The better weapons and armour they have, the better they'll do in the raid. Depending on their ac (armour class) and wc (weapon class), the villagers could either suffer a total loss or a complete victory, keeping anywhere from 0% to 100% of their 'supplies'. Any 'supplies' they protect become 'stockpile'. How quickly the village recovers after damage depends on its total repair skill. Any 'stockpile' defended from raids, or earned by quests, are immune to raids. These are the event points you'll spend on prizes at the end of the Event. The maximum 'stockpile' you can possibly get is about 3,000 per week.
